When Kate was in Primary School and the school play was announced, she went straight home and wrote down who in the class should play each role.
Casting was always the goal….before she even knew it was a job!
Kate has a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, majoring in Psychology &
Sociology. After uni, she worked at various
Casting Agencies in Melbourne, then spent many years
as the Extras Casting Director on some of the biggest
films to shoot in Australia.
During her Extras Casting career, Kate had the privilege
of working with legendary Directors: Baz Luhrmann, George Miller, Alex Proyas and Guillermo Del Toro.
Moving back into main Casting In 2010, Kate worked as a Casting Associate on shows such as; The Librarians, Woodley, Problems and Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey for ABC TV and then as the Casting Director on successful ABC productions; Ja’mie Private School Girl (2013), Jonah from Tonga (2014) & The first Aboriginal Narrative Comedy in Australia, 8MMM: Aboriginal Radio (2015) She has also cast a number of recent TV Pilots and Television Commercials.
Kate is committed to and passionate about casting and can often be found checking
out the local acting talent at schools, theatre and film
festivals around Melbourne & Sydney.
She has travelled all over the world and her favourite place
is the Galapagos Islands.
